Teach Outdoors

The work of Teach Outdoors focuses on supporting educators and increasing their capacity to involve students in investigating natural phenomena, exploring evidence, solving authentic problems, and making a difference in the real world.

The Institute provides strategies, tools, resources, and models for engaged K-12 science education through the forthcoming web library, in-person workshops, webinars, and online courses.

Our approach is informed by research on how children develop and learn, as well as twenty-five years of grant-making for youth-led projects that support environmental solutions. These grants have provided us with the invaluable opportunity to work with highly-effective educators who use the schoolyard to provide context and relevance for integrated STEM learning.
